The FLIR E85 thermal camera is a more than your average thermal imaging camera. With a resolution and sensitivity well above the norm, FLIR reinvented itself with the E85. A beautiful new touchscreen gives a smartphone style interface with the camera. Lenses can now be added or exchanged between cameras without needing to be sent back for recalibration. The E85 even includes a new laser autofocus system that ensures your images always look as crisp as they can. All this is housed in a tough, rubberized black housing that protects from dust and water while providing the look and feel you expect from a professional tool.

The excellent image starts with a thermal core with a resolution of 384 x 288 (110,592 pixels). The detector has a sensitivity of 0.03 °C, better than almost any available camera, and provides an excellent gradation of subtle temperature patterns. The FLIR E85 can take images and measure temperatures of objects across a huge range, from -4 to 2192 °F (-20 to 1200 °C). Multiple lenses are available for the E85, including a standard 24°, a wide angle 45°, and a telephoto 14° lens. FLIR embeds calibration data on a chip on each lens, making them compatible with any FLIR Exx-Series camera without needing factory recalibration. So it’s easy to order a lens later or to share a lens among multiple cameras. Just attach the new lens and activate the onboard lens calibration wizard.
